Frequently asked questions:

How long does it take to get the pictures?

The viewing gallery will be online one week after the photo shoot. It will remain online for at least 3 months. Photo orders are send out within two weeks.

There isn’t a shoot in my area, can you arrange one?

We need at least 10 children to book to make a photo shoot worthwhile, so if you have a group of friends we may be able to set up a photo shoot for you. If your swim school doesn’t offer a photo shoot, we may be able to set one up with them. Please contact us for more details and for current prices.

Private shoots are also available, please contact us for prices.

Where are you based?

We are based in Sheffield, but we travel around England and Wales and further afield at special request. We visit different locations each term so please “Like” our Facebook Page, follow us on Instagram, and subscribe to our mailing list to find out where we will be.

Success! You're on the list.

Do I need to be in the pool with my child?

You should treat the photo shoot like a normal swimming lesson, so you will be in the water with your child. Although the swimming teacher will position your child for you, (Covid restrictions dependant) you will need to be ready to take them back between submersions. It’s helpful to be in the water even with older children who can swim, especially when using props like mermaid tails and other costumes.

If you’re bringing more than one child, each child needs an adult with them.

Can I use the photos on Facebook?

If you purchase your digital files you can use them online, but please credit

You can also use the photos on your personal website (not linked to a business) as long as you credit

The pictures should not be published in magazines or newspapers or used for advertising purposes or for profit, without prior consent from Starfish Photography.
